What is Somatic Experiencing (SE)?

Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to healing trauma and stress. Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, SE is rooted in the understanding that the body holds the key to resolving and releasing past experiences.
Through gentle and compassionate guidance, I help clients tune into their bodies, fostering a deeper connection with their sensations, emotions, and inner resources. Each session is tailored to your unique needs, allowing you to navigate your healing journey at your own pace.

Trauma can result from acute stress, cumulative experiences, or a combination of both. It may stem from life-threatening situations like accidents, invasive medical procedures, abuse, war, or natural disasters, as well as subtler, ongoing stressors such as neglect, chronic shaming, or emotional conflict. These experiences disrupt the body’s natural capacity for resilience and can lead to symptoms like hyperarousal, emotional numbness, or chronic physical pain.
SE™ helps release the energy trapped in the body during a traumatic experience, allowing the nervous system to return to a state of balance. It is grounded in the observation of how animals in the wild recover from threats by completing their fight, flight, or freeze responses. Humans often get stuck in these states, and SE provides tools to gently guide the nervous system out of survival mode.
